It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Slender: The Arrival landed for PCs and consoles. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is currently in development for the Xbox Series, the Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It’s unlikely that GSC would include the ability to catch a Bayun in Heart of Chornobyl, the fact that they decided to include that tidbit about it mimicking human speech in the concept art opens up some pretty creepy possibilities if you were to encounter it in the game. Bayun can be caught if the person wears iron gloves and an iron hat, after which Bayun serves the person who caught it. Cat Bayun is a cat that tells stories and is able to lull unsuspecting travellers before eating them. The image text states that the Bayun takes its name from its throat sacs, “which allow the beast to imitate all kinds of sounds, including human speech.” In fact, the Bayun is based on the Slavic mythological creature known as Cat Bayun. The Bayun is described as “a very stealthy and nimble mutant” cat creature. The Heart of Chornobyl team has released new concept art of the Bayun, both celebrating International Cat Day, and also providing us with a gruesome look at one of the creatures you’ll be encountering in the game. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, despite the obvious setbacks. GSC Game World are still working away at S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
